Nokia Asha 311 detailed review

In recent times with the evolution of Android, the mass-market segment have been overflowing with cheap smartphones and Nokia Asha 311 will play an integral part for Nokia in order to have a stay in this market segment. The first impression one gets of the Nokia Asha 311 is that its a phone to impress the budget buyers, buyers who wish to own a low cost smartphone. Let us now get into what actually the phone offers us.

1 GHz CPU powers the Asha 311 and it also comes with 128 MB of RAM, which makes device smooth. It also has a 3.2MP camera which performs decently but one cannot expect much from it as it lacks a flash, Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity are other pro’s that phone carries very well. The Asha 311 comes with different colour combinations that really look good.

It holds a 3 inch capacitive touchscreen, display made using a layer of Gorilla Glass on the top of the screen to protect it from scratches, well all this sounds impressive isn’t it?? Being an entry level Asha 311 device, its does carry around all the features one expects it in a Rs. 6,500/- price range.

Talking about the phones UserInterface and OS:
Latest Series 40 touch OS is what runs the phone. I actually did not have many expectation from what i previously heard of the Nokia Asha 311. But then it was quiet surprising for me to see that the phone managed itself very well. There is no Menu button, the navigation is accomplished through swipe gestures(just like Nokia N9). It responds pretty well and is hassle free and fast.

Now come’s the most important aspect-”PERFORMANCE” :
The performance of video playback capability is much better is Nokia Asha 311, its commendable that the phone really stood firm on all other expectations I had, it has a pre-installed version of angry birds and other games which the phone handles really well. Probably the 1GHz processor comes into play here, amidst all this. It also has Nokia Maps, Life Tools, File Manager and a plenty of other apps with a battery that is decent to keep up for a day, that helps keep one glued to the phone.

FINAL CONCLUSION:
The Nokia Asha 311 is a phone for the youth, with the colours available probably any gender may opt for it. The user interface is new and refreshing and the camera is better than many entry level phones present in the market. Its a Phone for people who may have never used a touch screen device, its easy to operate, does not have much fuss in it and a phone which surely deserves a overall rating of 4/5 according to price and features.
