InFocus M2 Review: Best Budget selfie smartphone

Infocus is American tech based company. Infocus has been working with Taiwanese manufacturing behemoth Foxconn to sell smartphones in Asia for a few years now. The Infocus M2 is available on ecommerce website Snapdeal for Rs. 4,999. The hardware and software are not only competing entry level smartphone but also mid-range smartphones.


The InFocus M2 is an affordable smartphone. Still the box of Infocus M2 has all the necessary content, including a microUSB to USB data cable, AC charger, headset, quick started and the M2 smartphone itself.

The InFocus M2 has a 4.2-inch display with a 1280×768 HD resolution that offers good sharpness and visibility under sunlight. M2 is powered by Mediatek Quad core processor. It has 1GB of RAM with 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The back panel of smartphone is available in matte finish and will be available in Black and White colours. The smartphone supports Dual SIM and both has microSIM slot.


The Power button or Wake up key is on the right, Volume rocker key is on the left, 3.5mm audio jack on top and micro USB port is at the bottom. The phone comes with an LED notification light in the front for missed conversations, calls, messages, and other similar updates.


One of the best things about this phone is its cameras. InFocus has been able to amaze those mobile consumer in India who looks for a good camera phone without spending too much money on it. This smartphone will provide exclusive selfie camera experience thanks to 8 mega pixel front facing shooter as well as 8 megapixel rear facing camera, complete with flash on both sides. The picture quality is good both indoors and outdoors. The default camera app lets you click selfies with voice control and offers a variety of options like skin lightening and make up application while editing. It also offers you advanced settings for ISO, white balance, and scene modes before you capture.


There’s Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and even FM radio. There are two microphones, and InFocus lists noise cancellation as a feature. There is no ambient sensor, but there is also a proximity sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer.


The 2,010 mAh battery is long lasting and lets you listen to music, browse the web, watch videos, and carry out basic functions on a usual day out.


The smartphone is running on Android 4.4.2 with InLife UI which runs smoothly with no lags. The handset supports power saving mode. The Audio effect app which is preloaded app lets to enhance the audio quality.


For a price of just Rs 4,999, you couldn’t have asked for a better device. And the key features are the price and screen clarity. Performance is above average and camera works well with the price point. Infocus M2 is definitely a good smartphone to buy at given price tag.
